Code Pink HoustonAbout 100 protesters, some wearing cowboy boots and little else, took to the sidewalk outside the U.S. headquarters of BP Plc on Monday to "bare the truth" about the giant oil spill that is threatening an environmental disaster for the Gulf of Mexico.

On a hot Texas afternoon, protesters marched to BP's Houston "campus" from a nearby park chanting phrases like "Hey, hey, Lamar McKay, how many fish did you kill today," a reference to BP's top U.S. executive.

The protesters -- many of them women from the activist group Code Pink -- wore little clothing, while others were costumed to resemble the fish and birds that have been injured or killed by the spreading massive oil slick caused by the deadly April 20 oil rig explosion.

"What do you get when you drill, drill, drill?" chanted protester Medea Benjamin, wearing a bright pink wig, pink tape covering her breasts and skin-colored spandex shorts covered by a fishing net. "The naked truth, spill baby spill."

The Houston event was one of many staged by environmental groups in recent weeks.

In Port Fourchon, Louisiana, Greenpeace activists boarded a ship contracted to drill for Royal Dutch Shell in Alaska and wrote the words "Arctic Next?" in oil. Seven activists were arrested, Greenpeace said.
